ICE is not doing a great job of deportation, it is doing a divisive job, and I think this is the purpose. Getting the Left and the Right riled up against each other is a time-honored tactic, with proven results, and I do not blame them for using it. But I am convinced that is what this is, and nothing more. If the Trump Administration actually cared about the illegal problem, they would have no qualms about going after the employers first, e.g. Farms, Hotels, Meat Packing Plants, et cetera. The demand problem would be relatively easy to police, especially given his complete willingness to use Executive Orders at the drop of a hat. Instead, the policing is going on in the showiest, flashiest, supply side way possible, just picking up random brown people off the street, with a massively increased ICE budget, and, to me, it feels like this is just designed to gin up party fealty. I think this is mostly designed to get the bases pissed off at each other, while we collectively ignore (Israel, Iran, Venezuela, Epstein...) Perhaps I am wrong, but when I see my Boomer Mother getting pissed off at ICE, I always suspect a Psyop.
