I'm conflicted on this, because covering your ears and refusing to participate or relate to a problem is almost a perfect example of one of the things i think is wrong with "west-world" anno 2022:

Refusing to acknowledge and respect difference of opinion, going to extreme lenghts to avoid debate and terrorizing any difference of opinion into submission or quite simply smearing and cancelling them..

It says it's a 6. Grader, so i'm guessing 12 yo. kid?

Only a few children that age, will be mature and sure enough about themselves to argue against an adult and stand their ground alone against massive oppression or subversion attempts, so i guess i'd scold the school for the detention..

I get your point, but CNN as an education source is seriously plumbing the depths of the sewer. It’s indoctrination of a young child. We have to be able to filter some bad information, or we’ll be inundated with crap.

The paedagogic line in Danish public schools were (far-) left wing socialism in the good ole 1980's, so i can relate to indoctrination.. ehm, what was taught being confined within well defined borders..

I'd guess that ~90% of pupils left school with a social democratic outlook.. and some of us got better eventually..
