Boomers didn't do shit to stop it, but they weren't even old enough to vote when this passed. The voting age was 21 back then.

There's an interesting pattern to how many people were born during the generations. A simple search (the numbers might be a little different, but I think this is accurate enough for an example):

People born during their generational years: Greatest: 75m Silent: 50m Boomer: 76m Gen X: 65m Millennial: 75m Gen Z: 72m Alpha: 60m

What does this show?

There were a LOT of people in the Greatest generation. 75m doesn't seem like a lot compared to the others, but given the overall population of the USA at the time, there were a lot of these.

The Silent generation is one of, if not the smallest generation, and for good reason. These kids were born and raised in the aftermath of the Great Depression. I guess people weren't having kids much. Maybe there's another reason for it, but there's definitely not a lot of Silents. So the Silent generation likely did not do much to fuck up the country. If someone knows different, please say so.

Then, once again, there were a LOT of Boomers. We all know what happened with these assholes. Out of the depression and living on the fat generated by the Greatest generations. And they abused it. Good times for them.

Gen X got fucked. 65m is a lot of people, but by comparison to the population of the USA at the time, Gen X is often cited as the least populous generation. And we got fucked.

Then there's something of a boom of Millennials - who's parents are mostly Boomers. Again, we see how bad the Millennials are and we know what happened. Living on the bullshit the Boomers made.

Now given the increasing population of the USA, you might expect there to be a lot of Gen Zs. Nope. While 72m is a lot, it doesn't add up to be proportionate. So a smaller Gen X generation produced fewer Gen Zs.

An interesting thing is going on with Alphas. Millennials are selfish little bitches and not having kids. Maybe that's a good thing.

But now we're going to depend on the Gen Z kids to right the ship.

As a GenX child of Boomers it is still weird to me that most of their kids are in fact Millennials. I'm the oldest child, my siblings are Millennials, and I still find it weird. idk why.

It's a little unusual, but not unheard of. My wife's Dad was just barely a Silent and her mom is just barely a Boomer. Wife (like me) is solid Gen X. Depends partially on how early the parents start the kid train. And of course these generational labels aren't all perfect. There are exceptions to everything. So your siblings may in fact not be idiots.
