Gray shrouds the sky in endless dusk A weight that time cannot unmask Each drop a whisper of despair Each gust a sigh in stagnant air

The sun is but a fleeting dream Its warmth a ghost in cold regimes Puddles form in hollow ground Echoes of lost hope abound

Silent streets in mournful haze Where shadows stretch in listless daze Umbrellas wilt, their colors drained By ceaseless tears the heavens feigned

Days meld into nights unending Light a myth, forever bending Eyes grow dim, their spark erased By constant gloom the heart debased

No dawn to break this dismal hold No light to pierce the darkened mold Just rain and overcast remain A ceaseless, melancholy chain

You can get famous from poetry?

Not me, a Celt. Nor you, a white. Poetry is woke. Also there’s no demand for it anymore. People are not interested, but because they used to be interested in it, acclaimed poetry has become a status indicator.

If you were a black trans woman you could get famous, but only in academic or publishing circles. Think university press.

Celts are not white?

No, and were not eligible to be tokens either. How unfair.
