One thing I noticed about white people who were born and grew up in South Africa is they speak slowly and deliberately and communicate clearly using common words. No bullshit.
There are things he's doing that I like and some that I don't. If I ever can afford to move out of the city, I would get Starlink. If they ever get Neuralink to work, I would get it. But his Tesla and Solar City ventures are just waste of money.
Neuralink will never be mainstream. The procedure is too invasive and comes with risks of brain damage and infection. They take a piece of your skull out just to install it. No thanks. Whatever brain computer interface will go mainstream it will be noninvasive. If neuralink is smart they will pivot in that direction.
Yes, it may not go mainstream, I might not even see it in my lifetime. But I think to get the bandwidth needed BCI will always have to be invasive. The best case would be like the minimally invasive surgeries today, a small hole is drilled in your skull so they can roll up some super thin sheet of electrodes to be attached to your brain. Also in the best case I would imagine it's not a computer that's getting implanted, but an interface, so I can just send data out to offload anything thinking or memory. The human brain has a max IO bandwidth, as long as the BCI I get can saturate that bandwidth, I won't need surgeries to keep upgrading it.
