I had a similar experience w/ a url going over 256 chars the other day from a gun blog. Apparently following the link from my feed reader created this whole extra string of crap on the end of the url that wasn't necessary that wanted to list the referrer link to the site. Nothing wrong on your end, just annoyed the crap outta me the other site did that.
Everything after a ? is in most case just tracking data. I always strip that part off before posting.
Yeah, it's nothing you should worry about on your end. It was literally the only url I ever linked here that did that and there's been quite a few urls I've linked. Most of it was just redundant url referrer information repeated.
