Selecting the sub
Please be more explicit.
When I want to post anything to a sub, I fill out the fields, as usual, but the 'Sub' drop-down for the form causes my browsers to go into very high CPU usage and essentially stop responding. It doesn't matter if I attempt to type a sub or try to select the sub. At first it, only did this for Edge. I assumed it was only a problem with Microsoft, because, who wouldn't? Recently, though, it also started doing this for Desktop Chrome. Interestingly enough, I use 'Internet' for Samsung on my mobile. That doesn't seem to be affected.
Interesting. I just tried Chrome on my Samsung device. It behaves yet differently. I had never tried that since 'Internet' always worked. In this case, the GUI never locks up, but the drop down never gives me a list. I can type what ever I want though.
Screen shot (pic8.co)
Edit: wait! On Chrome mobile, the dropdown list does try to render. Only it renders on the bottom on the screen and attempts to render it horizontally. You can only see the top 3 or 4 items. I'll include a screen shot because this is truly bizarre.
This is odd because that feature was added years ago, and I haven't modified that part of the code since.
I'll check that out later.
I've tried with several browsers (including those you mentioned) and can't reproduce that issue.
Check your browser's console and logs for errors that could help me track down that bug.
Will do.
So I tried using different computers. It turns out that only 1 device of mine exhibits this problem: an Asus laptop with an i9 and Windows 11. This is relatively new to me. I bought it 6 months ago. This device also exhibits high CPU usage on Libre Office when I use multiple monitors. Very bizarre. Fortunately, the process runs on a single core so it only affects that one process. It looks like it's not your code. Sorry to bother you about this. I'm going to experiment more on this by using other browsers like Firefox.
