Update Successful Direct image upload for comments

Level 6+ Poalrs can now directly submit images in comments with the new Upload button (blue icon) next to Submit - Preview - Cancel (in comment threads)

Uploaded images are automatically added as hyperlinks to the last comment text input area opened.

The major part of this new feature is that it automatically uploads your images to pic8 (which strips off all the EXIF metadata and GPS coordinates) and adds a fallback mirror on Poal in case Pic8 is acting gay (thanks to @picman).

I'm currently beta testing the PM box support and will update that part later.

One issue popping up: Any image uploaded by anyone at all seems like they are being sent to the last active comment text input area for everyone. (I'm guessing, that is what it seems like might be happening)

Or it is just auto-adding random image links to the comment text area every 30-60sec.

  • Finished reading your post and cleared my cache immediately
  • I hard refreshed this page
  • I clicked the "Write a comment" button to see where the image upload button was located exactly.
  • I didn't upload an image, just left the comment box as the active page element with the cursor prompt flashing.
  • After about 30 seconds, this link was automatically added into the comment box.

Alright, everything works fine now.

I ironed out the bugs and uploaded image hyperlinks are now broadcasted at the right places.

It's still filling all the active text area if you have multiple tabs opened.

I'm fixing that now.

The (cute) polar bear pic @SoSickOfBlacks just test uploaded was also sent to the comment box of another tab I had left open with the comment box active.

As it is a link post, I think he can't edit the post to remove the added link as I believe link posts don't have an edit button.

Ah, cool. Glad you knew what those images were and why they were added.

(Now I'm imagining a random pic being added to every comment for April Fools.)
