I was searching for an old comment. I paged along to page 15 of my comments and then got ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.

If that breaks a rule, maybe we could get searchable comments.

That’s because you flooded Poal with requests and there’s a protection against that (to prevent botnets from data mining and wasting resources)

I get the "CONNECTION TIMED OUT" error on my home network. Talked to aou about over on the chat site and he claims I'm not banned by ip address. Most of the time it's up, and even resetting the modem to switch ip doesn't help. Pretty sure it's the ISP fucking with stuff on their end.

To my knowkedge, your home internet has a fixed ip regardless of resetting or powering down for x period of time. Mobile internet is different.

Depends on your ISP.

Typically, most home internet connections don't have a dedicated IP address. They won't change much, but YMMV. I know the one I have won't change unless the MAC of the attached router or modem changes. I roll the MAC on the router around sometimes when I feel like the IP address I have is getting funny.

Happened to me twice, couple of weeks ago, while digging through comments. Was thinking I had killed the site temporarily. @AOU told me it's an anti spam/bot mechanism.

Not a bug, it's a feature.

I get that shit all the time. It's probably NSA switching IP addresses or shift.
