I wouldn't consider that spam if its a legit user, I'd just don't upvote it. Thats kind of my policy on it unless its obvious intentional spamming people should be free to have their opinions without being downvoted.

Look here is the deal, I've managed to make this culture stick for a year and I am pretty determined to not have this site turn into a downvote fest if you don't like it don't upvote it, if you don't like it don't click it, that in and of itself will deter the people from posting. I really don't want to have a repeat of last year where I had to make a change to how the site functions to get it to stop. Agree to disagree, self promotion is allowed I'll address the fact that things that shouldn't are being posted to whatever and get the user to start using an appropriate sub. I've done it before.
