I haven't been able to access poal.co for a week now. For the first few days, I thought poal was actually down, with https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ also saying poal was down. Then I tried pinging poal, and got good response times, and traceroute seemed to work, but nslookup couldn't identify the last few IPs. Trying a wget seemed to indicate poal was up, but was refusing to connect somehow. Chromium can't find poal either.

Then I remembered I have opera with its silly little VPN and I'm able to browse poal and log on.

FWIW, maybe three weeks ago I couldn't connect, and traceroute gave the final IP a name I can't remember exactly, but it had the word ABUSE in it. I thought I copied it to a text file at the time but I can't find it now.

Anybody have an idea what might be going on?

Opera is owned by China. you on the rist now. If you want a free vpn you can use Proton mail's vpn or Windscribe has a good legit free vpn.

As it turns out I'd missed the captcha on login too many times and tried again immediately. KIDS!!! Don't try this at home!

Are you saying failing the captcha blocked your computer from accessing Poal?

No, refreshing the screen too fast to try again tripped a bot detection algorithm.

Ooooh. Ok. I have this weird issue with a laptop I dug up that I’d retired a few years ago. I came up on an extra SSD and brought back a machine on windows 8. I forgot how much I liked this laptop woth the exception of it not having a number pad.

Anyway, it updated to windows 8.1 and now has some weird things going on. One weird thing is Poal.co will not load in any browser nor with a VPN on. But on that same Wi-Fi I don’t have that problem on any device.

I’ve researched and researched and am at a loss.

Do you have Comcast / xfinity? They block sites they don’t want you to see

I'm on Spectrum, pretty much the entire time I've been on Poal. About a year ago, something was knocking me offline for 5 minutes at a time, it seemed like it was mostly after I'd been shitposting on youtube.

Also, why would it affect downforeveryone?
