TL;DR: OP, Brave is likely a honeypot, meant to trick users into a false sense of security. It de-anonymizes your activity on Tor/IPFS/blockchains/etc. as your browser fingerprint is now tied to your activity on those networks. Furthermore, Brave has been caught in the past doing sketchy shit (unixsheikh.com) which is not in line with their self-acclaimed "prviacy first" mindset.
Ever wonder how Brave, which is supposedly "community built", showed up on the scene, Day 1, with a beautifully designed and polished webpage, logo, branding, a closed-beta system, etc? Kind of odd, if it's just a troop of randoms on the internet building the project, don't you think?
