These differences of behavior between mobile browsers reminds me of the IE6/Netscape era.... what a pain in the ass it used to be.

Oh yes, I don't envy being in your position implementing a site like this, with all the browsers and versions out there. It was enough of a mess when I did some light HTML coding decades ago, but now...
