The current block user feature was an experiment, and after a few months of live trial, @PMYB2 and I agreed on changing its behavior when necessary. So starting now, you'll need to be at least level 6 (was level 30) to be able to reply to posts/comments from users who blocked you.

Blocking should only hide/auto collapse comments, posts and PMs for you the blocker, it shouldn't prevent the blocked from posting on your threads.

In a perfect world blocking shouldn't even exist. But we aren't in a perfect world and some paid shills are abusing free speech to slide and drive away users.

So the level 6 limit to be able to comment/reply to someone who blocked you (and they won't even get notified) is fair enough and prevents them from creating more alts to only shitcomment in posts or threads they have been blocked.

TL;DR: You're retarded.

The way the block feature used to work was not free-speech friendly. Users could get pissed at your and block you just so you couldn't respond in a debate. This update fixes that. The user who blocked you won't be notified of your reply, but all the other poal fags will be able to see your epic takedown and give you all the glory.

In short, you're retarded.

It's a level 10 feature, so it's not like everyone can use it. Really, it should be a mutual block. Users like @AntiClutch were using it then proceeding to still shit all over users they didn't like without giving them a chance to directly reply.

I don't see it that way at all. One user I block,engrish_is_hard I'm sure is a nice guy. He's never been shitty to me, I just don't personally enjoy his shtick- it doesn't add anything to my experience to see purposefully constructed pseudo-ESL sentences. I'm sure some people find it hilarious. The block button just means that I won't have to waste time reading something that isn't likely to improve my time on the site.

It doesn't stop Engrish from speaking (and it shouldn't.) Just me from hearing it.
