We never needed that feature up until the last migration where tons of goats decided that poal should bend to their demands and started using alts to follow users and flood shitcomment in their posts and comment threads.
Also: those who will try to circumvent that by using alts will get their main account banned.

Then the only way to converse with the rest of Poal on a topic submitted by someone that has blocked you would be to repost that topic yourself. This is stifling discussion not promoting it.
Free speech does not include a captive audience. People are free to ignore you.

There are not "tons" there are a handful of those types from voat, but we all knew who they were (most were even kind enough to keep their old names). It was a small minority of voat, so if you have tons now, many are not from voat.
