I made an image to post. I uploaded it to catbox, but poal said the link was expired (it isn't, I just made and checked it). So I tried uploading the image directly. It said it was not in an acceptable format, but it's a .jpg. I renamed the image in case the punctuation in the auto-generated name was throwing it off, but got the same error. Then I made a smaller version of the image with the improved name in case it was timing out or something. Still the error.

It's working perfectly fine.

Try to copy your image to the clipboard and paste it in the clipboard field.

Your jpg might be corrupt (but not enough to display on your computer)

Given that catbox and pic8 both accepted it, I wouldn't think it's corrupted. I'm not sure how doing it from the pic8 site vs from the poal page.

I just tried pasting from clipboard, it didn't work for me. I tried the original image and it said it was too large, so I tried the smaller image and I got that same "image file invalid" error. To do this test, I copied the image from where it's already hosted on pic8.

Given that ...pic8....accepted it,

Oh I thought it wasn't working even when uploading on pic8

Then it might be a pic8 API issue.

---> pic8 is being gay again!
