You should have mentioned it then.
Some images have the wrong extension and will confuse poal's detection code.
Does it work if you try to upload an image file or link (that fails on poal) on pic8.co?
I've mentioned it:
After trying to post the link I've mentioned above, it says: "Error: the link is broken, has expired or timed out (try again), or image is invalid"
However, now I've tried it in my own test channel, and it worked. So it may be, that there is another bug with the form, which causes problems when you first wanted to upload some pic, and then changed your mind to specify a direct link to the image. But this may be just a UI issue. Not sure, if it qualifies as a bug.
Edit: wrong citation copypastat
that there is another bug with the form
It's highly unlikely.
I as mentioned, if an image doesn't have the correct extension that matches its real format, it will most likely fail.
That's not the case:
file german\ police\ kneels.jpg
german police kneels.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, aspect ratio, density 72x72, segment length 16, baseline, precision 8, 741x911, components 3
The extension is .jpg and the filetype is jpeg. My connection is not so slow, that it needs over a minute for 132kb, so I doubt that it's too slow. but maybe it is, I'm using tor.
Kek. Plus I've just ruined your CSS, I think. Or my own custom CSS. In my browser the post below extends the width of the div of the message-field far above the size of the window.
You said:
You should use pic8 shortlink for it to work, not the link in your browser's address bar.
Maybe that's the case. I don't know. So you're saying, that the image upload took so long that it timed out?
You deleted the post where I made that comment because you posted the link in your address bar that isn't the link to your image but pic8 UI. That's why it can't generate a thumbnail.
The thumbnail is only generated after pic8 returns the shortlink.
