Interesting. I will be looking into the cause of this
Besides, it takes forever, until the post fails. I assume, that the thumbnail generator silently fails and the event handler times out.
Of course it could be something else. I just assume, that it's the thumbnail generator cuz I don't know what I'm talking about.

If your connection is slow, it will have a higher chance to time out and throw an error.
Image files submitted on poal are directly uploaded to pic8 without passing through poal before the thumbnail is generated (based on pic8 shortlink).
This can't be the reason. Posting the pic8 link as the image source also fails.
You should have mentioned it then.
Some images have the wrong extension and will confuse poal's detection code.
Does it work if you try to upload an image file or link (that fails on poal) on pic8.co?
Perhaps the image hosting server timed out. That happens sometimes and I will get very vague errors. I normally wait 1 minute, then try to repost it. If it happens again, I wait 1 more minute, then try to post it a third try. I might even wait an hour before I post it again.
Stuff like that happens.
Yeah, something like this sounds reasonable. However, I'd classify this as a bug. But if it's a feature, I stand corrected.
