When I open my alerts and messages in another tab, the (X) that denotes number of alerts goes away in both tabs. Nice.

But I found that the red number on the envelope does not go away in the unused tab. Don't know if these are both tied to the same variable or refresh or what, but I did notice it.

They are called notifications.

But I found that the red number on the envelope does not go away in the unused tab.

This can happen if you browse in private mode.

Can you check if you see any socketio error in your browser's console?

This is beyond what I know how to do. I run some adblockers so maybe that's why it's acting like private mode.
