Excellent. I just added an old Griswold waffle maker to my collection.
Old school cast iron is wonderful. A testament to the ingenuity we once held I high regard, a throwback to better days….

Only white people have the lawnmower to seasoned cast iron pipeline.
Guess my pan’s still on rookie level compared to this masterpiece! Time to call in some avocado oil reinforcements and hope for the best.
So the lawnmower blade is the Anode, the pan the cathode?
Correct, I think. Positive is on the blade, negative on the pan.
Looks good. Was there a before post? I only saw the stage 1/2 of the electrolysis process.
I didn't post any pictures of what it looked like before, but here's the before post. (take-me-to.space)
Amazing job. Must smell like chocolate now.
What oil did you use? I like avocado oil for its high temp properties.
Avocado oil is what I used. By the way, if you use that one for stir frying, do not forget it can get up to about 500 without smoking. My thumb isn't going to forget.
We're on the same track then.
Mine was in way worse shape. I went through a bottle of evaporust and 3 wire wheels to fix what my father in law's wife did to it. Eggs slide off it now but it was a bitch and a half to get it back into shape.
I am sorry for your loss. Of time, I mean.
Nice it ended up without excessive pitting.
I only zapped it for about four hours.
Got it clean and seasoned right away? Nice job on it.
Tried to get it seasoned same day, but I ran out of time last night. This morning my daughter found a clean egg pan, and then it had to be reseasoned.
In case you didn't see the first post, I tried out electrolysis to clean my cast iron. This is the afterward.
