Congrats! Did the landlord change the locks? If not, it's reasonably priced to buy a new deadlock and hand the landlord an extra key. I change the locks every time I move. I got Kwikset locks this past time around and I can rekey them any time with a little doo-dad they came with. I'm sure they aren't super secure but all locks are merely a deterrent.

I miss living with the Italians. I lived in northern NJ for years. My brother actually married into the mob and got a union job fixing elevators in NYC.

Small, quiet street in a very solid Italian/Irish neighborhood, the part of Philly where the people descended from European Immigrants work hard to keep out the Mexicans and Chinks. (((Landlord))) is 100% kike, but he seems to be reasonable (the place was clean enough to move into, a little renovation dust, and he offered to have it cleaned, but i waived that since I just want to get in).
No bedbugs, a kitchen with two rooms, one which will function as a bedroom, and one which function as a (office? living room? altar?).
There are many decisions to make. I am excited to have the chance to make them. Now I must buy a broom and a mop.
