I have three bowls;

Full size candy bars for kids in full costume or homemade costumes. Parents come no closer than the bottom of the stairs. This is a kid's holiday, parents need to stop pushing themselves into it.

Halloween 'snack' size candies for kids with no costume or half assing it.

Wrapped candies; peppermints, butterscotch discs and root beer barrels- when parents outnumber the kids and push kids in strollers or ask for more 'for kids at home', parents obviously just going around collecting candy, fat kids, rude kids, minorities that obviously just drove to white neighborhoods because they want better candy. I leave the door open so they can see all the selections. If they get snack size and see the full size candy bars and tell me they want those they get demoted to one piece of wrapped candy.

Yes, it's dickish but I'm tired of parents just seeing this as more gibs and not what should be a fun holiday for kids. I'm sick of pocks always fucking up my neighborhood. I moved here to get away from you fuckers. You already get my tax money, be happy with that.

I'll add that I've never seen any kid that wasn't white earn a full size candy bar. They are either rude as fuck or their parents were. At best they get snack size. I've actually taken my snack size out of a kids bag and replaced it with one piece of candy.

I also don't start until it's dark. None of this afternoon because it's convenient bullshit. Halloween should be spooky and a little bit rebellious for kids. It's more fun to go around the neighborhood at dark. And no driving to each house bullshit. Fuck that.

Love this system. Wish I had the nuts to do that around here.

I usually end up giving a couple full size bars to one or two kids. I give them one and they act so shocked I throw another in. If they make their costume from scratch and it's awesome or took some work they definitely get this. It's more about kids getting into the spirit and not just parents pushing them into it. Too often I've seen parents stand side by side drinking wine and holding out a bag like they get candy too. You get nothing, parents. For christ's sake stop taking shit from kids and let them have this without you.
