Is there any way for them to apply for some housing or any job that could help rent apartment? I mean are there in US social programs that help with homelessness? And are there police raids to check documents of these people, probably many of them don't have any so they can be detained or deported?
Most are homeless by choice, the Venice crew especially. Lots of hippies who sell braided bracelets or paintings to buy booze and weed.
They just like sitting around being drunk at 10am on a Tuesday. Living in a tent and eating ramen twice a day is the price they're willing to pay. And once they have face tattoos they're pretty much committed.
Exactly. And the city/state gives them no incentive to be productive members of society. Pitch a tent wherever you want and live your life.
