Our cat passed yesterday after what was a very long and painful night for all of us. Today is the first day without her and we miss her very much. We are comforted knowing that she had a good life and is now at peace.

She is pictured here sleeping on my wife's legs as she would most mornings. At night she would sleep on mine as I watched podcasts or read.

We had a wonderful 16 years together. I am very grateful for that.

Edit: I will try to answer all of your comments personally but know that if I don't I do appreciate them and things are very raw for me right now.

PS.This has been very helpful for me, thank you all.

Its worse if you dont out-live them. Then you dont know what will happen to them. But still they take a part of you with them when they go, dont they?

Yes. She took the worst and made it better. Thank you for helping me see that.
