Good find, that's a better pic. The missing string threw the captions off. He actually just released it in the op photo, you can see it if you look closely to the front of the bow.

no... the string broke... you can see it flapping. Also the the recurve is totally untentioned with the limbs forward. This never happens while the sting is in place.

I have to wonder what kind of arrowhead that is on the arrow in the intact-bowstring photo. Doesn't look particularly harmful to me.
