No one ever emotion-ed a new technology or moralized a field of science into existence. Logic isn't a god, but it sure is king.
You paragraph on abortion and tranny babies is incoherent, and most of your 'unexplainable' human behavior has logical explanations. Probably because you willfully lack the ability to use logic.
No one ever emotion-ed a new technology or moralized a field of science into existence.
Where did I say logic has no purpose?
Logic isn't a god, but it sure is king.
Logic is only a king in that it serves a people. Without a cultural context it does nothing. Human behavior is only logical within a context. If the context is "survival", then yeah you could derive logic from human behavior. It is logical to eat an apple because eating is necessary. You could call anything logical if you zoom in enough. "I wanted that bike so logically, I stole it."
Outside of a context there is nothing. What metaphysical truth explains one animal eating another? What logic explains why anything exists? How about good and evil? There's nothing there.
But I've betrayed the spirit of my post. The whole point is that we each have our own values and no amount of debate will change anybody's mind, because it can't. You see logic as a king and I don't. Not much else to say
That was my point. Logic is nothing more than a tool to understand the world around you, and no one in their right fucking mind thinks that logic is 'true' or 'correct' simply because it is logic. Logic can always be scrutinized. This whole post was a pedantic waste of time for anyone who reads it.
You could argue that philosophy is a pedantic waste of time. I can't help but feel that this is a master level troll where you are using my own post against me. In any case, maybe nobody puts logic itself on a pedestal but there are definitely people who try to apply Evidentialism to every aspect of their lives and I'm not sure how you're not seeing my discontent with them as the core feature of this post
