Quality is actually fairly easy to measure. Perfection is an undefinable that destroys quality because once the concept of "perfection" as a goal is accepted, an entire process becomes an exercise in fantasy. Asian cultures are often called "the land of of almost right" by perfectionists in an attempt to mock their rejection of the fantasy.
