His general point was they shouldn't be breathing.
That is taken out of context though, it was talking about how his followers should be humble like children and wasnt literally talking about killing pedophiles, that is very far removed from what he was saying. On another note i find it funny that he later refers to tax collecters unfavorably as if they are to be avoided. Tax collecters are like the most hated people in the bible.
that is what the passage is about. but that line still is pretty direct about destroying those who would harm children (pedophiles, groomers, etc...).
"causing to stumble" section is pretty clearly talking about anyone corrupting a child. to stumble means to cause someone to sin. it's almost directly addressing groomers. and it then says they are better off not breathing. not sure how to interpret that any other way.
