It's about fucking time. No more safe spaces, no more hug boxes and participation prizes.

The "gentle parenting" trend is how we ended up with so many weak pathetic fucks and the shit like DEI, mass censorship, 'cancel culture', etc..

From the post:

>Carla Dillon tried lots of ways to discipline her rambunctious 13-year-old, including making him write the same contrite sentence 100 times. But when he sprayed her with a water gun at a campground after she asked him not to, she saw only one option: She threw him in the pond, clothes and all. “Some of the best lessons in life are the hard ones,” she said. The internet calls it “FAFO,” short for “F—Around and Find Out.” It’s a child-rearing style that elevates consequences over the “gentle parenting” methods that have helped shape Gen Z.

I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Gen X. Raised on hose water and neglect."

We had very little, if any, supervision and turned out just fine.

While this is certainly true, we GenXers need to be careful not to use this the way the boomers did with their upbringing. We had to raise ourselves and did alright, but every generation faces a different world from those before or after them. I believe GenX is best suited to understand this out of any current living generation. We just keep doing what we need to do even if no one notices. It's our lot in life but we know how to use it to our advantage.

Amen. Well said.

Come home when the street lamps come on.

And don't come crying to me or I'll give you something to cry about.

I don't qualify as Gen X but my parents spanked, I drank from the hose, ran around barefoot all over the place, got kicked out of the house in the summer to "go do something" etc...

Other's around my age that were babied their whole lives still act like spoiled fucking brats and they are grown ass adults. Its fucking pathetic.

Honorary X, then.

Ill take it. I have very few friends that grew up the same way and they are the only ones I can really relate to. They are bringing their kids up the same way and if we are lucky enough to have kids we will be doing the same.

Here's a video showing how effective this method can be:

How very true. I bet that most of the people that are under the age of 35 today have never been spanked because "that's mean and I want my kid to think of me as a friend". Bitch, your kid needs to see you as a parent, protector and authority. When they are out on their own making their own family they can start to maybe look at you more like "a friend".

A child should never look to the parent and think "that's a friend."

Correct. I am trying to be "nice".

I am younger than many people here apparently but I do not agree with the way that these people operate and never have. Not for decades.

I enjoy all the "new" things millennials make or discover. Parenting by ass-whoopin'? How insightful! I can't wait to hear the results of this novel technique.

This is just un-doing some of the damage that started in the 70's-ish. Let them think they "invented" it.

If you watch macaque monkey videos, it certainly isn't only humans.
