I agree, Janis gave all her songs a depth of emotion that was exceptional. She had a hard life from childhood and faced a lot of strife in her life. She was voted "The ugliest man on campus" when she was in college. She used her voice to address her pain and it was evident to anyone who heard her. She was indeed a Legend.
Yeah, I studied on her a bit so know how she had a hard time of it. Was a early teen when she died. Don’t get the ugly part, she wasn’t that bad. Especially when you take in her personality. (Had a girlfriend in HS that looked kinda looked like her, or was considered ugly by the going standards you could say. Lol, should’ve stayed with her, she was loyal to the bone and a good soul. All the ones since, though very attractive, have been pretty much nightmares.) I liked her best with Big Brother and the Holding Co., something about their rawness fit well with her to my ear. Indeed she was a Legend, sad she went out the way she did.
