I'm long retired from playing (late 60's through the 70's). Very little guitar but performed as a drummer, rock of course. Marriage and kids cut it short after that but my obsession and passion never left. Now I'm trying to keep the music and the artists of my youth alive. I like to believe that a song never truly dies until the last time it's heard. I have a friend, TheBuddha, who is also passionate about this and shared a catalogue I created on another site a year ago. Since that's long been archived, he decided to create the Musicfor.us site to keep the songs available. He admins and runs the site and I contribute the content. I'm really grateful for his assistance.

If you're not aware, and interested, he mods a weekly post on Voat (https://www.voat.co/v/guitar) at 8pm ET every friday night. It's a group of everybody interested in music (any instrument) that share clips of their own pieces and just generally talk about playing. I find it very entertaining and would love for you to participate.

It's very clear how passionate you are about music, that's awesome. Playing in the 60s and 70s must have been an absolute blast - I long wished I had been born of that time but I have come to accept twas not to be!

Yes the Buddha has great technical knowledge - I'm not so technical and more hm experimental I guess. Thank you very much for the invitation, that's very kind and sounds very positive. I much prefer the vibe here than voat, people seem more open.

I have an aversion to the general tone of Voat also, but the guitar thread is completely apolitical and only involves personal music. You might take a look (usually takes an hour or so to get going) although the last 2 weeks have been kinda slow. I suppose once fall sets in it will get back to more of the usuals to participate. We've had saxophonists, pianists, electronic artists, and even a bagpiper, in addition to guitarists of all different levels of expertise. It's a welcome break to all the political/social noise of the day. And although Buddha is extremely accomplished, he doesn't pretend or assume he is "better" than anyone who loves performing. All there just want to encourage each other and enjoy.

I truly do appreciate the inclusiveness, thank you. I'll try and get my musical act together and participate at some point. Haven't been playing much lately at all but it will be healthy for me to do so.
