Using your logic, I prefer to abolish the Federal Reserve. It does a lot worse than nothing. After that, I'd abolish the FBI, CIA, FDA, CDC, NEA, UN, WHO, WEF and a whole lot more. Customs is pretty much useless, as you point out, yet they do no harm.
