bs, take a look at 60 minutes, they are still breaking real stories with independent fact-checking and aren't taking any position when presenting the facts, they leave that for the audience. A presenter over at a network is not a journalist. A weather girl (sometimes permitting a meterologist) is not a journalist. A blogger or social media personality is not a journlist. A member of parliament is not a journalist. A sports commentator, an entertainemnt media marketer is not a journalist, but they all call each other one lately.

If 60 minutes negatively covered something you liked and put your trust in, no amount of investigative journalism and evidence would change your opinion. And just to address your doctor analogy. Doctors are humans like everyone else, which makes 80% of them completely useless zombies who run on autopilot most of the time and have few generic answers for any pain, wound or ailment they´ve been using ever since they left school and forgot everything else but the few lines they need every day. Like in any field, there are very few experts, some idiots and ton of mediocrity. So yeah, you might as well diagnose and treat yourself if its not lethal and if it is, you can only pray you ll get a doctor who knows his shit and actually gives a shit, the odds are not in your favor. Unless you are rich and can afford to pick a verified expert in his field...
