That makes sense; I suspect the Pantheon has some sort of existence.
The difference is, though, the distinction between Created and Uncreated. This is what is important.
The Taoists recognized The Way, which is itself Uncreated, yet sustains all things.
Epimenides acknowledged the Unknown God, as I had mentioned before.
And virtually all the really ancient peoples remembered the great Sky God Who loved mankind, but Who was forgotten, and Whose place was usurped by horribly-behaved “deities” who went about conquering and enslaving and seducing etc mankind.
The Ancient Faith is all of these.
Amongst people of every tribe and nation, there have always been those relatively meek, humble folks who, though they knew they were looking forward to being delivered from the clutches of evil, they couldn’t quite put their finger on Who or What exactly that was going to be.
The Incarnation of the God-Man answered all of that - thereby completing the Ancient Faith, and ushering in the Era of Christendom.
Which, sadly, has essentially drawn to a close.
