they're murdering flash? why?
I'm out of the loop :(
Thats been the plan since smartphones were a thing. Big teck doesnt like it.
There have been reasons said such as security issues or some BS about it being a battery drainer but in honesty it likely comes down to flash not being an easily censored, controlled, and standardised format. In short it gave too much creative freedom for their taste if I had to guess.
So at the end of the year every main browser will reject flash entirely and adobe will abandon it.
well shit, are freedom-loving engineers working on a solution by chance? flash can't just be dying. What's Brave browser's stance? also, a quick rundown on exactly what ruffle.rs is and how to use it would be helpful for newbies
Flash is and has been dying. Down right getting murdered in fact. As for brave no clue. Not that it matters much when the big name browsers, mobile devices, and search engines all oppose flash. It is and already has been more than enough to kill off a great many flash sites. How long the rest can survive without a proper solution is questionable.
As for freedom loving... ruffle.rs and look into flashpoint archives. Newgrounds also has a site specific program to open their swf in an out of browser program of theirs. If you can download a sfw file then there are also third party flash programs out there that can play most of them. Try searching for a swf or flash player.
As for what ruffle is and how to use it you should know as much as I do at the moment. Look at their site. Ruffle.rs
