The Warriors. Probably the most famous NYC Street gang movie, the very beginning where they killed Cyrus was based on a real event where many street gangs had a planned truce in the Bronx in the mid-1970's and unified: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fVzlgKy9gw&list=PL_Q3Od1MwGARSkfjWYAIGCXCUMuDsFNZ7

The Wanderers:This movie was mostly fictionalized, but the Baldies were a real Bronx Street Gang. They didn't really have bald heads and I believe they were all-Italian like the fictional Wanderers and not mixed race. The mindsets of the working class guineas and the racial tensions with the Blacks were true to that time period. The gay undertones the movie tries to convey make the movie creepy, but it is still a classic movie worth watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO8ZW7ocXQc

The Education of Sonny Carson: Sonny Carson was a Nog piece of shit, but still part of NYC history. His son, Lamumba was Professor X in the Black Supremacist rap group X-Clan In the movie, the main antagonist Wolf was an actual, feared gang member in Brooklyn who rode a horse around town in the 1970's: You can watch the whole thing on Youtube, but this is my favorite clip:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VNMEvlYN_w ** Sleepers This movie (Like Fargo) is touted to be a true story, but was later debunked as a work of fiction. However, the movie is loosely based on The Westies, a Hell's Kitchen street gang that is very real and to this day is somewhat operational although way past their heyday. The sons of most of these guys are a year or two older than me and I know 4 or 5 of them and have interacted with them on a few occasions. Although it is a work of fiction, the sentiments and premise of the movie is very real and it has an all-star cast and is a great watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNKjaFRqve8

Bullet A work of fiction, but I'm sure loosely based on some Jewish street toughs of probablhy the 1950's and 1960's and modernized. The feel of the movie is very accurate to the 1990's Brooklyn that it tries to convey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3Qdj91Xm50

The Sharks and the Jets? I believe that is also loosely based on real gangs of that era and personalities like "The Capeman" of Paul Simon fame.
