Cuarenta y Tres is an underappreciated liqueur - very versatile. Only thing missing is an analog clock that runs backwards!

I don't think I've had it.

Licor 43 - tucked against the Amaretto on the right wall. Best selling liqueur in Spain. Vanilla, citrus, floral - you can pair it with almost anything if you think about it long enough. They sell it in both 750 and 375 sizes. Total Wine up in the Shitty stocked it. Read up on the flavors, check out some recipes and pick some up if it appeals to you. It isn't as indispensable as say a good orange liqueur, vermouth or Chartreuse but is fun to play with. Works really well around Christmas!

Take a look .

!

This looks so good I'll forgive them for putting limes in their lemon recipe picture.

I'll have to ask around for this.

Speaking of liquor, I tried absinthe for the first time recently, and it's been an interesting experience. It's very soft and doesn't burn at all when sipped, slightly bitter so goes well with something sweet on the side. Then I tried to down the whole shot at once, and oh boy, it turned into green drink of death right away - the bitterness became so intense I caught myself wheezing for minutes straight and my eyes and nose kept pouring profusely. It also made me immediately drunk as if I downed a whole bottle of vodka at once. Definitely something to drink responsibly.
