I have no defense against the first drink. If I drink, I will drink until the end of the bottle. This is not a matter of willpower, for I have no willpower when it comes to alcohol.

Me: Swear off alcohol forever.

You: I did.

Me: good on ya, M8.

You: Also, this.

Me: The fuck, Theo... Please stop.

My grandmother was a chemical codependency counselor for almost 30 years until she passed away. Herself, a recovering alcoholic for that whole time.

I understand what you mean. Pray, brother, that Christ might, through His Spirit and by the Will of the Father, moment by moment, grant you perseverance. There is no temptation that is beyond God’s power to help you resist.

No big deal. You are on the road to recovery, you stumbled and you fell. Now get up, stop whining and keep going. No one said it would be easy.

At least now you know that your addiction is still there and you can't control yourself around alcohol, so don't buy it and stay away from bars or any events with the drinks.
