My Dad still says "X or X is "such" a *great* company". It's like brah, this isn't the 70s etc, these companies don't exist on their own merit anymore. They didn't get / get to stay at what place they are because they did / are doing great. They're fascist zombie corps now where the competition is creamed out by the gov and now banks shutting down their credit card processors. And their product reflects that.
You can tell he loved that phrase and loved getting to use it for a company.
I wish I grew-up in boomer-times. Man, what a life they got to live. The last generation that got to experience everything good that the pinnacle of humanity had to offer. Now, we get to eat-shit from now until the empire collapses; which I hope happens in my lifetime.
BUT, I am seeing more and more retirement-age people working at fast food places which tells me they can't live off SS and they did not prepare for their retirement using other means.
Just wait until all those reverse-mortgages comes home to roost.
early retirement is a great pathway to an early grave.
you sure as shit shouldnt be working 80 hour weeks past 100 but full retirement isnt as relaxing or healthy as its often made out to be unless youre rich as fuck.
The reality is that "retirement" is yet another jewish trick. Men never retired: they moved-on from doing the work, to passing-on knowledge of the work. The seniors would make sure the young'ins would have everything they need to survive, in the future: and thus the circle-of-life was complete. We broke that circle.
