What is poals view on "hog jowl"? Hog jowl is made from the cheek of the pig. (duckduckgo.com) AKA Hog Jawl. I like hog jawl better than bacon. It tastes the same as bacon, but it has a much richer flavor. I don't know how to describe it, other than "same as bacon, just better".
Never heard of it specifically. I think I can get it from the groceries here (small town)
It usually comes in a big 2 pound chunk. IF that's the case, take it to the butcher/deli, and ask them to slice it up just like bacon. During the holiday season just passed, they already cut it up into slices like bacon.
EDIT:::: BEWARE, you think normal bacon spews grease? You know, your standing there frying bacon, and the grease will pop, and burn your skin? HOG JAWL IS 100 TIMES WORSE. I mean it really blows, grease everywhere. I got around this problem using a george foreman grill and keep the lid closed for about 10 minutes of cooking time.
