I always remember a time in my early 20s when I hung out with some people after church. There was some extra food and I was voluntold to take home a bagged salad. My car was parked a few blocks away because it was just that part of an old city where car parking was not really a thought when it was built. I walked passed a homeless lady who was practically crying, asking me for money and telling me how hungry she was. I told her "I don't have any money, but you can have this salad". She looked at the salad, then looked at me and her face instantly changed from feigning sadness to anger as she snarled "I can't eat that". Then she huffed off in another direction. That will always stick with me. There was a time in my life where I was starving and had zero food for 22 days AFTER only eating once every 2-3 days for a period of a year or so. I would have eaten ANYTHING edible if it was given to me for free.
Yeah, it's sad. In America we have fat homeless people I don't think that is true anywhere else in the world. They don't want food they want money.
Even in the worst spot they can be in life, they still don't sort out their priorities.
