Like something's in the air. A faint, almost imperceptible whiff of something abominable. It's more then just the day-to-day drama. More than the Twitter harassers and the horrible images they send to my sister's Facebook. More than the sheer unwholeseness that porn promotes, for free, to anyone dumb enough to look. More than the whispers in my head and their warnings of ever-present dangers that seemingly lurk close by (or perhaps wait within the not-so-distant future) -- vampires, rape trannies, necromancing witches, demonic possession... What the frick does that mean? It's something more than the sum of it's parts. A creature tearing through a subterranean membrane. Something big, and awful, and infinitely hungry. Coming for us. Getting closer and closer. Can you feel it's hot breath on your neck? Can you see it's teeth like I can? Maybe Dr. Schmeckleberg was right. Maybe Twitter is right. Maybe I should just give up and open an incognito tab and... No. Not today.
