Today I go on a call to a ladies house and immediately find out that her super fancy piece of shit thermostat has lost it's programming an there's no way to fix this other than replacing the thermostat. The conversation after I tell her this goes as such "So my thermostat is broken?" "Yes, I can replace it with one on my truck for a few hundred dollars, you can contact the manufacturer since it's only a few months old and get a free replacement, or you can buy one yourself and either put it in or pay me to put it in." "Ok, I'm gonna call the company cause I don't want to pay for a new one." "Understood, your total for today's service is" she cuts me off and says "Wait, I gotta PAY for you to tell me the thermostat is broken?"
