Surveillance video from the Chevron gas station and D&D Convenience Store on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard shows a man repeatedly striking a woman’s vehicle with a hammer at 6 a.m. this morning.
The victim, a clerk at the store, exited to confront him. The man then approached her and fatally struck her with the hammer, knocking her to the ground.
He continued striking her before casually walking away.

The Fort Myers Police Department announced that a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation at a Chevron gas station on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Highland Avenue is in custody.
The suspect was found on Mango Street and was detained by officers.
One victim, a woman, is confirmed dead.
FMPD said Rolbert Joachin, 40, was arrested in connection with the homicide. According to police, he was transported to the Lee County Jail. He is facing charges of homicide and damaging property.
