It's the way it is with counterfeit currency -- if nobody ever noticed that it is a fake, everybody stays happy. I mean, what difference does it make if a statue was carved in Mesopotamia in 2500 BC, or in a basement in New York City by Joshua Schwartz? The owner is only going to put it in a glass case in a quiet room somewhere. Or, take engagement rings -- what does it really matter if an engagement ring is glass, or diamond, as long as the woman who gets it thinks it is a diamond? As long as she never has it appraised, she'll continue to be happy for the rest of her life.
