The override for that earworm is to sing (loudly) a song that you like and hits you. While singing it, remeber the good memories that the song is tied to (hooking up with a girlfriend, some great time you had with friends). You usually don't need to get very far into the song to replace the annoying one. The obvious downside is if you need to replace a song when you are around people.

I can usually get rid of the annoying earworm by taking over and forcing a Rush song like 'Spirit of Radio' or 'Limelight' to play instead. Why those two songs have such override abilities is something I've not figured out yet, I'm glad they do work well.
