Correct because when the battery dies it is not worth the cost to replace. Even if the rest of the vehicle is in serviceable condition.

There is also the tire wear problem.

Battery last 200k miles. Most far longer. Most manufacturers give warranty on the battery too, so if something goes wrong in 100k miles it's replaced.

10 year old car. Modern ones don't have that issue.
