What I've done in the past when explaining things to women (I don't use their idiotic term because that buys into their narrative) I typically also add something like this:
"I'm not trying to be condescending - and "condescending" means talking down to you - but you don''t seem to understand..."
My buddy's daughter almost swallowed her tongue she got so upset. What made it worse was everyone at the party laughing at the joke and at her response to it.
