I'll be mega-satan's advocate. Disney has to protect the use of trademarks if they want to deny it's use by anybody including their direct competitors. The law requires them to be dicks. Not their fault in this case.
If you ever want to pressure a company to do something for you (that they ought to do anyway but are kind of being dicks) just yell at them over the phone. Oh yeah, well I'm going to try to put your logo on my dead son's grave because he "loved your company so much" but you'll have to deny it to protect your trademark and it will produce really bad publicity for your company. At that point you have them by the balls and they will give you anything.
