One cannot arrest someone just for coming to your front door (you basically invite them -- so unless you take steps to keep people from getting to your front door, its an open invitation. You can tell them to leave and if they don't, its a trespass). I assume that the state allows for citizens' arrest.
When someone shady looking who I don't know comes to the door, I answer the door in condition zero.
